It is 1991 when Ethan Jones finally wins the role of his dreams in an upcoming, big screen movie. With the envelope holding the script clutched in his hand, he arrives at his California apartment where he can hardly wait to tell his girlfriend the exciting news. But when he finds the door unexpectedly ajar, he has no idea that in just a few seconds, the life he has fought so hard to obtain will be shattered. Eight years earlier, Ethan is attending university in Ottawa, Canada. One evening after seriously contemplating suicide, he finds his way into a club where he meets Mila Monahan, a beautiful acting student who saves him from himself. After he watches Mila rehearse a university play, Ethan catches the acting bug and decides to pursue his own creative passions, causing a collision with his more secure ideals. But when Mila suddenly disappears, Ethan vows he will never stop chasing the dream she inspired in him, believing in a world entirely different from the one he is living in. The Actor is a gripping tale of a young man’s unforgettable journey of self-discovery in overcoming the trauma of a personal tragedy. It is a story of love, hardship, persistence and overwhelming joy where The Actor learns he can portray anything he can imagine.

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what are the first three things you think you would do or buy?

It would be hard for me to win the lottery because you have to by a ticket. But in answer to your question, if I were to win, I’d first pay off our mortgage then put the rest away in investments setting up monthly payouts to live on. I would take our family on a short trip to somewhere nice.

If you could change the ending to any book that you have ever read, what book would it be?

Gone Girl. I thought the story was well written and set up to have an incredible ending and it just quit. But what do I know. It was a very successful novel.

What event or accomplishment would you consider to be the highlight of you career thus far?

Publishing my first novel The Actor and the launch party celebrating the event and a turning point in my life in becoming a full-time writer. Simply put, a dream come true.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received in your life?

They come in two quotes “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?” and Henry David Thoreau “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours”

What thought or sentiment would you like to have copied and put into one million fortune cookies?

Find what you love and do it. Never give up searching.
